3. How We Use Your Data

We process your data for the following lawful purposes:

  • AI Matching: Analyze profiles and recommend compatible businesses using semantic analysis
  • Platform Functionality: Create profiles, manage membership, enable connections
  • Communication: Send match notifications, event invitations, service updates
  • Improvement: Refine matching algorithms and improve user experience
  • Legal Compliance: Fulfill contractual and regulatory obligations under Norwegian law

Legal Basis: Processing is based on contract performance (membership), legitimate interest (platform improvement), and your consent (optional features).

4. AI & Automated Processing

Oslo Meet uses AI to analyze business profiles and suggest potential matches. This constitutes automated processing under GDPR Article 22.

Your rights regarding AI processing:

  • Opt out of AI-powered matching; use manual browsing only
  • Request human review of automated decisions affecting you
  • Correct profile data anytime to improve match accuracy

We do not use your business data to train public AI models. Your information is processed only within Oslo Meet for matching purposes.

5. Data Sharing & Visibility

Your profile visibility depends on your membership settings:

  • Public: Visible in Oslo Meet directory to all visitors
  • Members Only: Visible only to verified Oslo Meet members
  • Private: Used only for AI matching; hidden from search/directory

We do not sell your data. We may share aggregated, anonymized insights (e.g., "50 logistics companies joined this month") for marketing purposes.

Trusted Processors: We use GDPR-compliant services: Supabase (EU-hosted database), OpenAI API (semantic analysis, no training on your data), and analytics providers (anonymized data only).

6. Your GDPR Rights

As a data subject in the EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Rectify inaccurate information
  • Request deletion ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability (receive data in structured format)
